Okay I would have never thought I would wear glitter as an eyeshadow, but my oh my what a fun look. It looked great, I loved applying it. This is great for a night out, party, or an event.  This is NYX glitter pallette great price and a good buy.

Say Who....Say What!!!!

Recently I have been using Ambi CoCoa Butter Cleansing Bar. I have been using it for two weeks and I must say after washing my face with the bar of soap I do not get that soapy film. I do get a moisturized feel, soft and smooth. On the box it says evens out skintone, the only difference in my skin is the softness , I have'nt noticed the even skintone quite yet. But I will continue to use the soap and update and let you guys know if this soap worked for me. Amazon sells this for 2.59 good price and well worth it.Comment and let me know if you use this cleansing soap and how you feel about it.

Spring is in the Air.........

Alright my plus size ladies out there, spring is here its time to add some color to your wardrobe. I'm seeing corals, turquoise, bold flower prints, white, and bright greens. I think coral looks good on any skintone(my opinion). This particular outfit is "vintage". My previous post titled Don't sleep on Goodwill I wrote about my visit to Goodwill and this is was a Lane Bryant shirt I found for 4.00. I paired it with a pair of white pants that I had in my closet from Old Navy. The neckelace I barrowed from my mom and I think this look is very nautical.My hair is actually a the Outre Jewelry wig that I blogged about in previous post. On my face foundation is Black Opal(and I really like this)velvet from MAC, gold shimmer, and a rose color from a eyeshadow pallete I got from my local beauty supply store. FYI- I write this blog because I enjoy enjoy my blog. I am not affiliated with Goodwill or my beauty supply store in any way. I like to shop and I am trying out different ways to shop. I hope you enjoy my blog and comment and we can share ideas.

My Natural Hair Journey........

Hello all....I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a fab weekend with my daughter on the beautiful beaches of Jacksonville, FL. But what I'm writing about today is, my natural hair journey. I decided to take this journey and grow out my "natural" hair. And folks I must say...I tried....I really did....lol. But the journey had to come to an end. Gave the flat iron a try(that did'nt work), gave pinning it up a try, that was okay until the end of the day when my hair looked like the end of a Q-tip.(lol) Needless to say it was a great journey but the "natural" hair thing just was not in the cards for me. Nothing against my "natural haired" sistas if you can rock it ROCK it!!! On a serious note straightening my hair does not make me any less of a african american woman. Hence the lyrics from Andrea 3000 from the album Aquemini, "Is every dread for the cause or is every ***** with golds for the fall" This is just how I prefer to wear my hair. TO EACH IS OWN!!! Maybe I will give it a try again in the near future but for now this is how I want to wear my hair. What Eyeshadow I am Loving right now.

I am absolutly loving this eyeshadow right now. It is from Iman cosmetics. Its a deep purple and I use this eyeshadow every chance I get. I paired this with a lavender color I got from my local beauty supply store. Awesome color and can be used on any skintone. The name of the eyeshadow is African Violet and I recommend anyone to get this color. The eyeshadow is darker than the pics shown above.

DYI project

I had some sandles that I was going to throw out but I decided to jazz them up a little. So what I did was make flowers out of organza and tool and added some texture by shredding the ends of the flower. So here is a before and after pic.
I think they turned out pretty snazzy. So here they are, let me know what your DIY projects are.

Seven years ago I was riding in the car with my dad and we were talking about my future and what I wanted to do with my life. I told him I wanted to own a boutique one day and call it Esha. Esha means woman in Hebrew. This would be a boutique for all women of all cultures to shop. That was the day Esha Boutique was spoken into existance. Designer Highlight Korto Momolu

Project Runway, I have been a fan of that show since season 1. But no one stood out the most to me then Korto Momolu. She was the runner up on season 5. And I have to say I love her designs. When she designs she designs for curvy and skinny and you can see the spirit of her homeland Liberia in her designs. Her final runway show on season 5 I just knew she was going to be first place, but unfortunatly that was not so. She just showed in Fashion week 2010 and also she has her own line of jewelry and handbags in Dillards department store. So she is a winner in my eyes. My Do it Yourself Project......

Okay about 2 weeks ago I went to a garage sale.(Love garage sales) I was on a mission, I needed a chair for my vanity. It's early in the morning, the fog is lifting, its a chill in the air. (Time for some coffee and a donut from Dunk'n Donuts) I know, I know donuts high in calories blah blah, the mood was right for a coffee and donut what can I say lol. So I'm driving around the neighborhood and I pull up to my first garage sale. I walk up to the merchandise checking out the people who are intensely looking at the things on sale. The young man having the sale comes up to me and says "morning can I help you find anything?" I told him I was looking for a chair to put at my vanity. He turns around and points to the one he was sitting in and says, "I can sell that one to you." The chair was made of real maple wood and of course I'm like that would be perfect. My next question to him was "how much?" He says "I'll sell it to you for $3.00" I was so grateful and I bought the chair. I took it home and I had to make the chair my own so I made it girly. I painted the chair chocolate brown and made a cushion out of teal and cream printed material. The cushion I used an old pillow I had laying around and the material I got from Joann's fabrics in the clearance section for 4.00 bucks. So that was my DIY project that I was proud of and I thought I would share it with you.

Do not sleep on Goodwill........

Okay so a few weeks back I decided to take a trip to the Goodwill and see if I can find any treasures. And I must say I was pretty pleased on what I purchased. I found a great metalic silver clutch that I can wear when I go out. It was only $2.99 great buy. I found a navy blue and white nautical blouse that came with a belt from Lane Bryant for $4.00. And a great leather tote from Wilson's Leather for $2.99. I was so excited, when they say "another man's trash (in this case woman's) is another man's treasure that is absolutly true. Goodwill will not be seeing the last of me. So when I say do not sleep on Goodwill, I mean check them out and see what treasures you can find. I wish I had pics but the camera situation..... you know coming soon.

The layered necklace is most definitely an up and coming trend......from two necklaces to 20 necklaces you can count on this accessory to make a bold statement to an outfit. Tank top and jeans and add layered necklaces and the outfit is jazzed up. This look has been around for many years. I'm sure you all remember the flapper times where women would wear layers of pearls with a gorgeous flapper dress. Well this trend is definitely making a comeback and I love the look. Disclaimer I have not purchased any of these necklaces. I love fashion and I am simply discussing the trend. P.S. Plus size women you can wear these too accesorize!!!!!

My natural hair update!!!!!

At the start of my blog I said I will go on the journey of growing my hair back to its natural state. Well this is month four and I have not had one dose of the "creamy crack" lol. Right now I have a modest afro with small hints of my chemically relaxed hair and I refuse to cut the small strands off. But whatever lol. Remember Picture Page back in the day with Bill Cosby and the little pen he used to write with. My afro looks very similar to that. I am very proud of myself and excited to see how long my hair will get and how my hair looks in its natural state. But now I am rock'n a protective style that I really like. Inspired by Phillydiva on Youtube. I have microbraids in the front(thanks to my lil sis Purkanah) and I sewed tracks in the back. I had to give the wigs a break. By wearing these protective styles you are protecting your natural hair from any heat from the curling iron or sun damage. I wish I could show you pics but I do not have acess to a camera. But soon....real soon.

I just want to congratulate Monique for winning a Golden Globe for her portrayal as the abusive, drug addicted, and hopeless mother in the movie Precious. I recently saw the movie and I must say she really got in touch with the character she was playing. She deserved the award.......and her dress was stunning. She wore a gold, greek draped dress that captured her curves in all the right places. Monique very proud of you and hoping you will get an oscar. And the hair and make-up was flawless.

Layers, Layers. Layers.......

It's all about layering.....this will never go out of style. Layering was very popular in the 80's and have made a comback in 2000. Layering of necklaces...bracelets.....jackets....everything. I just want to say that I absolutly love the look. Its a great added addition to an amazing outfit. Basically its a big chunky necklace that is a tied together with ribbon.
